Sexion d’Assault is a French hip-hop group formed in 2002, consisting of 10 rappers, mostly from northern and central Paris, with roots in Guinea, Senegal, Mali, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Côte d’Ivoire. The collective consists of Maître Gims, Jr, Black Mesrimes, Macka d’aM, Llefa, Maska, Adams, Doumams, Balistik and L.I.O. The group members Jr, Maître Gims, Adams, Maska and Llefa also form part of  Troisième Prototype. Managed in its early stages by Jiba Jiba, in 2006 the band enlisted producer of  the Untouchables, Dawala to reinvigorate his career. He signed the group to his label Wati-B. Aged 20 to 25 years the group members are far from a group of beginners, with nearly 10 years of activity in the French rap underground scene. The strength of Sexion Assault is its ability to flow and bring relentless punch lines while maintaining a freshness and vitality too often missing in the rest of French productions. Not only do they have the attitude, charisma but also the themes that are the values and sounds ​​of a new generation. They talk about serious and poignant subjects (on the track ” Décadé” for example) but always with much freshness in the melodies, which plays down the intensity without diminishing the point.  Focused on real food for thought, they are not afraid to tackle issues in their lyrics, difficult subjects such as the racism between Africans and Arabs in France. After numerous appearances on mixtapes, and compilations of EPs, Sexion D’Assault released their 2008 street album Le Renouveau. The following year they returned with L’Écrasement de tête. Meanwhile, the group organised a freestyle tour during which they performed with only a ghetto blaster. Their first full album,  L’École des points vitaux  was released in 2010. It was one the main success of French hip-hop in 2010, forty-five weeks in the top SNEP charts and culminating in second place. This was followed by L’Apogée in 2011 ,with an accompanying DVD  Les Chroniques du 75 Vol. 2.
